The House of Cash

People mistakenly think that The House of Cash was one of Johnny Cash’s homes in Hendersonville.  But The House of Cash was actually a museum in Hendersonville located at 700 Main Street.  Johnny Cash did not live there; it was just a collection of his memorabilia.  It had become run down and was eventually closed. Today there is a Johnny Cash Museum in Nashville.  It now holds Johnny Cash memorabilia and artifacts.  It also contains the original sign for the old museum. 200 Caudill Drive

However, Johnny Cash did live in Hendersonville on a huge lakeside estate for many years.  The house at 200 Caudill Drive, Hendersonville, TN, was his home with his wife June Carter Cash from 1968 until they both died in 2003 within months of each other.

Barry Gibbs purchased the property, but the house burned down during renovations.  Today visitors can drive by and see the spectacular views that Johnny Cash enjoyed.
